It was 102 degrees on our faculty welcome day… [we had] spent the week working with incoming students and getting classes ready. I say this to show that the audience for Dr. Verschelden was tired from a long week after a short summer, and within the first 15 minutes of her refreshing keynote speech, the energy and connection in the room was palpable.

The workshop was meaningful, engaging, and thoughtful. Some issues arose that felt sensitive to people who have had adverse childhood experiences, and those were handled with grace and love, and the overwhelming response in the evaluations was that this was one of the most meaningful professional development experiences that people have ever attended - anywhere.

Bandwidth Recovery conversations created momentum in the auditorium that day and the ideas and energy have continued throughout the school year. We ordered the books and we are keeping the conversation going, and looking forward to when we meet Dr. Verschelden again.
